WATCH: Search continues for the missing one month on from KZN floods
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
A month has passed since the skies over KZN opened and a record amount of rain began falling over parts of the province.
Many families in KwaZulu-Natal have begun rebuilding their homes and lives while still searching for missing relatives.
Rescue workers have been working tirelessly over the past four weeks as they continue with attempts to reunite families and loved ones.
More than 60 people are still missing.
The helicopters are used to drop off aid to those in need while also searching for any bodies possibly floating in the river or along the sides of the river, starting at the Umlazi river mouth, all the way through to Shongweni.

Newswatch understands that these air searches are carried out daily, with teams scouring several rivers around Durban in an effort to bring closure to families still missing loved ones.
While many KZN residents have begun picking up the pieces and moving on with their lives, hundreds of search and rescue officials are still risking their lives every day to search rivers, collapsed homes and other structures in search of those who are missing.
Daily searches have been conducted stemming from the Virginia Airport where a search and rescue base has been operating for the month. They have been here everyday since the floods @ECR_Newswatch pic.twitter.com/TQz5mNaxdc
