WATCH: Sanral finalises plans for Queen Nandi Drive link road
Updated | By Khatija Nxedlana
Sanral says engineers are finalising the design of a traffic circle at a Queen Nandi Drive petrol station just off the N2 to put an end to illegal and dangerous u-turns being made there.
The national road agency's Planning, Design and Construction Manager Ravi Ronny says over 90 vehicles drive onto oncoming traffic everyday at the N2/M45 offramp where the road splits to Queen Nandi Drive and the Total service station.
This is because after motorists drive into the petrol station from the northbound carriageway, there is no route for those wanting to continue onto Queen Nandi Drive resulting in the u-turns.
Ronny says it's not only a problem on the Northbound carriageway but also on the Southbound.
