Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
Minister of Defence and Military Veterans, Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula launched the “Plant Trees, Not bombs” global campaign on at the Durban ICC on Thursday.

The Global Peace campaign aims to plant 75-million trees across the globe by September next year.
Mapisa-Nqakula alongside Graca Machel and various international government officials planted the first tree outside the centre.
The minister says the time is now for the public to declare a war against the new threat.
"We never thought at one stage we would ever have a tremor here, we never thought we would ever have tornado."
"What that means is that everything which we have been advised to do by those who have specialised in this area of work, we must do, if only to save the planet," she said.
