WATCH: Ramaphosa delivers SONA as elections loom
Updated | By AFP
President Cyril Ramaphosa will on Thursday give his most important State of the Nation address in an election year when the ANC risks losing its parliamentary majority for the first time.

It will be the third time he has had to give the address at City Hall after the nation's parliament was ravaged by arson in 2022. But this will be the most closely watched of his seven annual speeches since taking office in 2018.
Africa's most industrialised economy is heading into elections stricken by crippling power cuts, graft that has touched the ANC, high unemployment and a slumbering economy.
Ramaphose will, in the next two weeks, announce the date of the elections for national and provincial MPs, widely expected to take place between May and August.
