Protest action in Bayhead Road brought
traffic in the vicinity to a standstill on Monday morning.
It's unclear what the reason behind the protests are just yet, but according eThekwini Metro Spokesperson Parboo Sewpersad the All Truck Drivers Foundation and alleged members of the MK Vets descended on the area at 5am.
“Reports have just come in that Bayhead Road and Langerberg Road was blocked by ADTF and alleged MK Vets protesters. Three hundred protesters were dispersed. The intersection is now opened.,” Senior Superintendent Sewpersad said.
“The protesters are now marching towards Albert Park in the CBD. Motorists are urged to be cautioned and be vigilant, stay away from the Albert Park area,” Sewpersad said.
This is a developing story.
