WATCH: Protest over employment of foreigners in Newlands East
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
About 50 workers held a protest at a business precinct in Riverhorse Valley in Newlands East on Wednesday morning.
According to Durban Metro police, they are angry that some companies at Imvubu Park have been employing foreign jobseekers.
A video taken of the demonstration shows workers standing and singing on both sides of the road.
"For now, they are peaceful. They are not volatile," says the police's Geraldine Stevens.
"There are no road closures at the moment and the situation seems to be under control."
