WATCH: Man attempts to allegedly kidnap a toddler at Umhlanga shopping centre

A Durban children's home founder warns that it only takes a few seconds for your child to disappear from your side.
This follows the arrest of a 29-year-man who allegedly kidnapped a two-year-old boy at an Umhlanga shopping centre.
Police say a man picked up the toddler from a trolley while the child's grandmother was paying.
The woman soon realised her grandson was gone and raised the alarm.
Police say she spotted the man walking away with the boy and rushed to grab him from his arms.
Police spokesperson Jay Naicker says the elderly woman immediately reported the incident to centre management.
"Police officers from Durban North arrived at the scene and viewed the CCTV footage at the mall. The suspect was immediately identified as a security guard who was on duty at the mall, and he was promptly arrested," he said.
The suspect who appeared in a Verulam court yesterday on charges of kidnapping remains in custody until his next appearance on Monday.
