WATCH LIVE: Ramaphosa set to ease restrictions
Updated | By Newswatch
President Cyril Ramaphosa is set to ease some Covid-19 restrictions when he addresses the nation on Sunday evening.
Acting Health Minister Mmamaloko Kubayi said on Friday that the country has moved past the peak of the third wave - a development which could see South Africans getting back some of their freedoms.
Those in the know believe Ramaphosa could move the country to alert level 3, lifting the ban on the sale of alcohol and allowing for small gatherings.
This in spite of concerns over the impact the recent violence and looting could have in the number of new infections in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.
