President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to announce changes to his Cabinet on Thursday evening.
The reshuffle comes amid an ugly public spat between Police Minister Bheki Cele and State Security Minister Ayanda Dlodlo over intelligence reports ahead of the unrest in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng.
It is also widely reported that Health Minister Zweli Mkhize has resigned amid the Digital Vibes tender scandal.
The last major reshuffle under Ramaphosa’s administration was in 2019, including cutting down the number of ministries from 36 to 28.
