WATCH: KZN couple, guests arrested for flouting lockdown rules

The wedding ceremony of a bridal couple was cut short by police and the army.

The couple and 50 guests were arrested for contravening the regulations of the 21-day lockdown - which forbid mass gatherings.
Mdu Ncalane's who's with the uMhlathuze Municipality says the arrests will be a wake-up call to anyone else thinking about taking a chance during the lockdown.
"Police arrested 50 people who were attending a wedding at eNseleni outside Richards Bay. This will see the about-to-be newlyweds spending their honeymoon under stringent bail conditions. Amongst the arrested, is the Pastor who was officiating in the matrimony."

"All who attended the wedding were taken to eMpangeni Police Station for their cases to be registered and for bail arrangements. Their cases will be dealt with after the lockdown period. They are charged for contravening amongst others the National Disaster Act and defying the Lockdown Regulations."
Law enforcement officers have had their hands full in KwaZulu Natal - after a spate of lockdown breaches this past weekend.
Three church leaders in Ngwelezana, in northern KZN, were arrested for conducting a religious ceremony.
Another six people were busted for allegedly selling liquor and four more arrested for picnicking in front of the Richards Bay Civic Centre Park.
Some car washes were also shut down by police.
