Warning for high tides along KZN coast
Updated | By Lethiwe Mdluli
The National Sea Rescue Institute is urging beachgoers and fishermen to be careful along the coast this weekend.
Higher than normal high tides and lower than normal low tides are expected as a result of the full moon spring tides.
The NSRI's Craig Lambinon says bathers and fishermen are most at risk when it comes to stronger than usual rip currents.
"The NSRI is urging the public to be cautious around the coastline this weekend and into the first half of next week. We are in the peak of the full moon spring tide.
"We are urging the public to be cautious around the coast," Lambinon said.
