WATCH: Family and community gather in Nongoma to pay respect to King Zwelithini
Locals of Nongoma have started arriving at the Khethomthandayo Royal Palace. It's where Zulu king Goodwill Zwelithini was born, his body is expected arrive there today.
Community leaders and chiefs were updated early on Saturday morning.
On Friday evening, President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that Isilo Samabandla would receive a Special Official Funeral Category 1.
Newswatch has learnt that the family are grateful that Zwelithini will receive a special funeral and expressed gratitude for the well wishes that have streamed in from around the world.
Former president Jacob Zuma is expected to arrive at the palace today to pay his respects.
Closed door discussions are ongoing inside the palace with funeral details set to be announced in the coming days.
