WATCH: Durban firefighters battling Springfield Park blaze

Durban firefighters battled a blaze at the Value Centre in Springfield Park on Monday evening.

Emergency services were called there a short while ago after protesters set the centre alight.
Hundreds of people looted the shops there earlier in the day as violent protests continue in the province.
eThekwini Fire Division Commander Narend Birjalal says several stores were engulfed by flames.
He says the blaze was still active but under control early on Monday evening.

"The entire Springfield Park shops have been vandalised and there's been looters.
“We are currently extinguishing fire at Adidas, Reebok, Osmans Forever View that the part where the Pick n Pay is. That entire section is burning, we have teams there and we are currently extinguishing the fire there."
