WATCH: Durban firefighters battling Effingham blaze
Firefighters and other emergency services have
raced to Effingham, north of Durban, where some homes are on fire.
eThekwini Fire's Bruce Degier is among the crew.
"There is a lot of shacks alight and we are struggling with water supply and we are struggling with access but we are busy working.
No further details are available at the moment, but a video from the scene shows a huge black cloud of smoke billowing into the sky.
