WATCH: Chaos erupts in Sydenham

Sydenham police have met with angry community members from Durban's Burnwood informal settlement following a protest in the area that saw several major routes blocked to traffic.
Community members are upset over a shooting incident in which a known suspect allegedly attacked a sleeping couple.
Angry protesters barricaded parts of R.D. Naidu Drive at the Randles Road intersection saying they want the alleged assailant to leave the area.

Police spokesperson, Thembeka Mbhele says the couple had been sleeping in their home at the Burnwood informal settlement when they were shot - allegedly by the suspect. Another resident was also grazed by a bullet.
The protesters blocked the road with burning tyres and branches while two police vehicles were also stoned. Mbhele says the suspect is still at large.
Residents also gathered on Sparks Road in Sydenham - calling for the installation of speed humps. While demonstrators - who were demanding job opportunities - targeted a foster care home on Vincent Dickenson Road in Cottonlands, Verulam.
