WARNING: More thunderstorms expected in KZN today
Updated | By Nothando Mkhize
A taxi driver and a passenger have been pulled alive from a wrecked vehicle in Pinetown this morning after a tree collapsed smashing into the minibus on Trafford Road.
It comes hours after a terrifying thunderstorm ripped through parts of Durban this morning, causing debris to wash onto roads.
Life Response's Paige Fitchat says the jaws of life were used to free the man and woman.
"On arrival, there were multiple branches lying on the roadway."

"The taxi was squashed by the tree. It was quite a large tree, the branches actually crushed the taxi to about half the height of a normal taxi," she says.
She says the patients were crushed by the tree but sustained moderate to severe injuries.
Meanwhile, KZN Co-operative Governance officials are still assessing the extent of the damage after thundershowers from last night.
Weather forecasters have predicted more severe thunderstorms in most parts of KZN today.
A Yellow level 2 Alert has been sent out.
"Severe thunderstorms with possible strong winds, hail and excessive lightning, are expected over most parts of KZN today," the South African Weather Service said on Wednesday morning.
This follows last night's severe thunderstorms which left a path of destruction in the roads, fallen trees and sinkholes across Durban.
