Warning of high fire danger in northern KZN
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
A fire danger warning has been issued for northern KZN, and agriculture officials are urging farmers to take measures to protect their livestock and crops.

On Sunday, several runaway veld fires were reported in the King Cetshwayo, uThukela and uMzinyathi districts.
Now, the weather office has sent out an alert for extremely high fire danger conditions.
Dozens of homes were gutted in the weekend infernos, leaving 53 people without a roof over their heads.
One of those homes belonged to 67-year-old Muntukabongwa Gazu, who tragically perished in the flames in uMlalazi Municipality.
Human Settlements MEC Siboniso Duma will make his way to the King Cetshwayo area on Thursday to visit the victims and survey the damage.
His spokesperson Ndabezinhle Sibiya says Nkandla Local Municipality was also affected.
"There are families that are destitute in that municipality. The MEC will also proceed to Melmoth to visit other families affected. He will also be going to eShowe, where there are more than 21 families that have lost their homes."
Meanwhile with fire risks soaring, agriculture officials are urging people living in rural areas to stay cautious.
They say they'll intervene if the situation gets out of control.
