Wanted hitman arrested for murder of taxi boss in Ezakheni

Detectives have caught up with an alleged hitman wanted for the murder of a taxi boss.
Khumbulani Mazibuko was killed in Ezakheni near Ladysmith in 2019.
KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Nqobile Gwala says the Provincial Taxi Task Team arrested the 38-year-old suspect on Sunday.
He's expected to appear in the Ezakheni Magistrate's Court facing murder and attempted murder charges.
"The team was following up on intelligence about a wanted murder suspect. The suspect was arrested at East Mine area in Vryheid.
"It is alleged that on 7 September 2019 at 12h00, Khumbulani Mazibuko, 35, was at Ezakheni when he was killed in a hail of bullets while exiting his vehicle.
"The other occupants of the vehicle were not injured. Mazibuko was transported to hospital where he later died.”
