Wait finally over for class of ‘21 as matric results released

Individual matric results were released on Friday morning.

The Class of 2021 is finding out how they fared in their NSC papers.
Basic Education released pupils' personal results at 6 o'clock on its website. Matriculants can also access them via newspapers and other media platforms.
They can obtain their statement of results from their schools later. Basic Education Minister, Angie Motshekga says the pass rate inched up from 76.2% to 76.4% last year.

The 2021 cohort comprised 890 000 candidates - over 7 000 of these were full-time students.
Speaking at an awards ceremony for the country's top achievers, Motshekga said without the inclusion of progressed pupils, the overall pass rate stands at 79.8%.
"The 6.4% got bachelors again its an increase from last year. So we say the nmber of bachelors is the highest attained in the entire history of the NSC exams but the second highest attained in 2019 when expressed as percentages."
