Wage issues to be discussed on Friday: Working on Fire
The Working on Fire programme says all issues raised during a wage dispute by firefighters in Canada will be discussed on Friday.
301 firefighters were sent to Alberta to help tackle wildfires there that have been raging for more than a month.
They embarked on a strike over salary issues shortly after their arrival.
Working on Fire's Linton Rensburg says the firefighters are on a break now and should be back on duty in a week or so.
''All of the issues will be put on the table in terms of the conditions of this employment and also the issue that came up around salaries and remunerations.
''There was a very positive meeting with the minister. We are just glad that all our firefighters are back home, many of them have now arrived in their provinces. We will have a number of these meetings with our firefighters in their various provinces,'' he said.
