Voter registration drive wraps up

The final voter registration has wrapped up with South Africans having headed to their voting stations to make sure they'll be able to have their say in the upcoming Local Government Elections.

Newswatch spoke to some East Coasters to find out if they visited their voting stations. 


These people say they want their vote to help improve South Africa.


"It's time to get things in order out here, things are getting out of hand so it's enough with the racial prejudices, it's time we all pull finger and get sorted," said an Umhlanga resident.


"A little bit of organisation and direction in Parliament and maybe a bit of structure to where the money is being put," said another concerned voter.

The local government elections take place on the 3rd of August.


Meanwhile the ANC in KwaZulu Natal has accused the EFF of tearing down its party campaign posters on the north coast.  


The ruling party's released a statement saying vandals struck in Esikhaleni in Umhlathuze.  


Provincial Secretary, Super Zuma says they've opened a case against those suspected of having destroyed election material.
