Virtual Parly meeting interrupted by pornographic images
Updated | By Jacaranda fm
A virtual meeting of the National Assembly's programming committee meeting was interrupted by the flashing of pornographic images on MPs screens on Thursday.

A male voice could also be heard throwing insults at National Assembly Speaker Thandi Modise, who was chairing the meeting held over Zoom.
Modise says it's not the first time Parliament has had issues with the Zoom platform.
"The issues of this porn stuff came long before the chief whips went and agreed on Zoom. We had already picked up that this platform has issues."
"And for us to interact with the platform owner, obviously they want business and they'd say it's sorted. Clearly today it's proven that it was not sorted out."

Modise has instructed Parliament to ensure the availability of other virtual platforms.
"So I will get back to you on what platform we are going to go with."
"Yes, Zoom was very clear, but in fact, the first we used Microsoft Team was clearer than today. I just think we need to work better on our systems, so we get a clearer voice and picture."
