Violent protest erupts at UKZN’s Westville campus

Metro police are monitoring a student protest at UKZN's Westville campus.
It's understood that students have blocked the institution's exits.
"Police have made entry through the blockages on the N3,” says the police's Geraldine Stevens.
“The students started stoning the police. the situation is volatile, however, it's all taking place on campus so there is no effect to the roadway.

“The reason for the protest has we have it, is that the students are complaining that their residence is not being cleaned and maintained.”
