Violence in KZN taxi industry worrying: Santaco
Updated | By Puseletso Petersen
The SA National Taxi Council in KZN says it's very concerned about a number of recent murders linked to a taxi dispute in the province.

"The problem we're facing as an industry is that we don't know what to do. We have done everything trying to teach our operators to go to the boardroom whenever they are having a problem but it is not happening," he said.
SANTACO's Mandla Mzelemu's been commenting after eight people were killed since Monday in the Nongoma, Umbumbulu and Stanger areas - what's believed to be a dispute over routes.

"The suspects are people from outside. We can't find any owner in this killing. There are people in this industry paying those people," he said.
No arrests have been made yet. The Transport, Community Safety and Liason MEC is expected to visit the affected taxi associations this week in an effort to restore calm.
