Oliver Mungaraza says his wife was dropping the children off at school when she had a run in with another motorist.

He says there was a confrontation over who had right of way.

He says the argument became heated and turned violent.

"He spitted twice on my wife's hair then my wife came out of the car - that's when my wife pushed the guy, then the guy punched her several times on the face then she fell on the ground then he kicked her in the face."

The woman was taken to hospital.

Mungaraza says the baby is fine, but his wife suffered minor injuries.

He says the incident has shaken their youngest child, who is four.

"She pretended like she was ok but when they wanted to go to sleep at night two minutes (later) she woke up, she was running coming back to us saying 'Mommy, mommy I am dreaming of that guy who was fighting you'".

"So that is the thing that is mostly affecting me and she is asking 'Daddy are you going to catch that guy, daddy should I go to school'"".

Police have confirmed they are investigating a case of assault.
