The accused in the Verulam child sexual abuse trial says he no longer wants to take part in the proceedings.

The man was earlier warned that his behaviour was contemptuous, after he stormed out of the witness stand, and hurled profanities at the judge.
Judge Mohini Moodley called for a brief adjournment and the man’s council addressed the court after.
"After a brief cooling-off period the man was escorted back into the dock by two police officers.

Defence advocate Thiagaraj Pillay addressed the court and said that he has been given instructions that his client no longer wanted to be cross-examined and wish to remain silent for the rest of the trial.
The accused then stood up and apologised for his outburst telling the Judge that was not his intention.
The judge noted his apology but urged the accused to think about his decision and its consequences.
He told the court that emotionally, the trial is breaking him. The matter is back in court today.
