Verulam community wants justice for rape victim
Updated | By Portia Cele
The girl was allegedly found by locals last weekend hanging on a tree after it's believed she'd been raped. Local councillor, Mxolisi Ndzimbomvu says its fortunate she was found on time.
He however fears the community's frustration as it's been almost a week but no arrest.
"They were angry. If they can find the perpetrator - we will find ourselves in trouble. The only thing that we can say is that if anyone has any information they must inform the police. Then they will work to ensure the suspect faces justice," he said.
The girl who was hospitalised has since been released.
