Use sunscreen, keep hydrated: KZN medics

With north-eastern KwaZulu-Natal in the grips of a heat wave, local medics are advising people to exercise caution.
The SA Weather Service says temperatures are expected to peak at over 40 degrees Celsius in parts of the province today and that these conditions will likely persist until tomorrow.
Durban, the Drakensberg, Newcastle and Mooi River is expected to reach a high of 33 degrees Celius today. While the forecast for Pietermaritzburg and Ulundi is a blazing 40 degrees Celcius.

IPSS Medical Rescue's Paul Herbst says those who plan on spending time in the water over this period should also be on high alert.
