IDEA says urgent plan needed to address SA teacher shortage
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
Global education group IDEA says the issue of teacher shortages in South Africa needs to be addressed urgently.

This after Deputy President Paul Mashatile said there is a shortage of qualified teachers and called for competitive compensation to increase participation.
He was speaking at the International Task Force on Teachers Policy Forum this week.
IDEA’s CEO Corrin Varady says Mashatile's remarks were surprising and called for action to strengthen digital learning opportunities for pupils.
