Upset in eThekwini as ANC loses its majority

The African National Congress (ANC) in KwaZulu-Natal has lost its majority in eThekwini, according to preliminary results released by the Independent Electoral Commission in KZN.
The African National Congress (ANC) in KwaZulu-Natal has lost its majority in eThekwini, according to preliminary results released by the Independent Electoral Commission in KZN.
According to the commission’s website, 100 percent of the vote have been completed.
The ANC came in at 42.02 percent, which is less than the 51 percent it needs to govern the metro outright.
It's down from 56 percent in 2016.
The Democratic Alliance (DA) secured 25.62 percent of the vote, while the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) made off with 10.48 percent.
