UPDATE: Water shutdown planned for upper Highway areas postponed

Umgeni Water says the 30-hour shutdown planned for parts of the Upper Highway area has been put on hold temporarily until a later date. 

The utility's Shami Harichunder says the decision was taken last night following a request by the Msunduzi Local Municipality

Harichunder says the shutdown, when it does go ahead, is vital to water security in areas fed by the Midmar Dam water treatment works.
