Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The N3 in the vicinity of the Mariannhill Toll Plaza has been re-opened to traffic.

Protest action there brought traffic on both carriageways to a complete halt this morning.
The Umkhonto Wesizwe Military Veterans Association led the protest against the killing of farm workers.

Transport's Zinhle Mngomezulu-Mali says the freeway has since been re-opened but motorists can still expect some delays.
"The freeway at Mariannhill Plaza on both lanes now open to traffic. In as much as we do experience a backlog of traffic, what we are happy about is that the traffic is now moving," she says.
