UPDATE: Man shoots, kills wife at Durban Magistrate's Court
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Spokesperson for SAPS, Thembeka Mbhele says proceedings had been taking place in O Court on the eighth floor at about 11.30am today.
She says initial indications are that the 32-year-old officer produced his service pistol and opened fire - instantly killing his wife and brother-in-law.
They both suffered gunshot wounds to the head.

Mbhele says the man was rushed to hospital with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
"The 32-year-old suspect is at the hospital in a critical condition but he is under police guard. He will be charged with two counts of murder. This is a unique scene, as it happened inside the court. So the police are still busy there. They are also trying to interview the witnesses and determine the motive behind the killing," Mbhele said.
The whole eighth floor has been cordoned off.
