UPDATE: Joburg building fire death toll at 56

Officials have confirmed that 56 people have been killed so far in the early morning blaze in a Johannesburg building.
Fire crews in central Johannesburg are damping down remaining hotspots.
Emergency teams are searching the multi-storey structure for more possible victims.

The City's EMS spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi says 43 people suffered injuries including smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
"Since the building itself is actually an informal settlement inside, so there is a lot of debris we have to go through juts to remove any uncertainty in terms of other bodies which might still be trapped inside the building. So we are going that floor-by-floor."
