Unpaid KZN teachers now being cut by medical aid schemes

Hundreds of teachers who haven't received their February salaries yet have now been cut off by their medical aid schemes.
A source at a Chesterville school where all of its 19 teachers and support staff are affected, says when they try to use their medical aid cards, these decline stating that they have resigned.

Education Department Spokesperson Muzi Mahlambi says all teachers who were cleared of possibly being "ghost workers'' have been paid.
"These are the people that have not been coming forward for the head count and they have been ignoring the department. The department has generated their cheques manually, their cheques are there," he said.
