Teachers Union (NATU) says the School Nutritional Programme in KZN will
be monitored regularly from now on.

It’s been commenting on the move by the service provider, the Pacina Retail company, to immediately pull out of its R2 billion contract with the provincial education department.
The supplier failed to deliver food to thousands of schools in KZN.
KZN Education says it will be going back to the old method of supplying meals to school children.

It’s reassured the province that pupils on the feeding scheme will be fed from Tuesday.
Natu’s Doctor Ngema says they are relieved the saga has come to an end.
“As National Teachers Union we are indeed optimistic that food will be available on the 2nd of May. However, we are going to monitor the situation to improve on the ground.
"We want to thank the Minister of Basic Education for the intervention. However we still expect the investigation must be done thouroghly because we can't have more than 2 million learners being deprived of their only meal of the day.”
