The union is upset at the company's plans to retrench up to 500 workers.

They've threatened to disrupt the upcoming Vodacom Durban July. The union's Boitumelo Senokoane said.

"They came back to us yesterday, and said they have a new proposal for us. When we looked into that - there is really nothing new. The terms remain the same. We are going to send a warning to the stakeholders of the Durban July," Senokoane said.

Meanwhile, Michel Nairac of Gold Circle, the organisers of the Vodacom Durban July, insists that the event will go ahead as planned and without interruption.
