Union promises to bring fight to SABC
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
The Communication Workers' Union says its members employed by the public broadcaster will not back down from fighting for their jobs.

The SABC says it will cut jobs across the country. As much as R400 million is expected to be saved per year by letting go of around 1 000 full-time staff and 1 200 freelancers. Workers picketed at various SABC officers around the country yesterday.
However, workers and the union held an engagement session in Durban.
The union's Thami Mzileni says the SABC should rather look to save money by focusing on - what they believe - are overpaid bosses.
"Let us start with the executives. How much is the CEO earning? Let start cutting costs there", he said.
"Let us cut the cost of bonuses of around R5 million per executive member that have already been paid. Workers on the ground should not suffer while those at the top living lavish lifestyles are allowed to continue taking more", Mzileni said.
