UN vows to support KZN flood recovery

The United Nations in South Africa says it too will be supporting
disaster recovery efforts in KZN.
The UN's technical team assessed the needs of flood-affected communities during a three-day visit recently.
The organisation's Resident Coordinator Ayodele Odusola has promised to make available their resources to help rebuild parts of our flood-ravaged province.

"We are development agencies that have the opportunity to bring expertise anywhere in the world to the doorstep of KwaZulu-Natal. We are praised in over 200 countries in the world, and we really believe whatever the kind of expertise it is or skill we can bring it to the doorstep of KwaZulu-Natal.”
He was speaking at a media briefing with KZN Premier Sihle Zikalala, who said the UN's assistance is appreciated.
"A lot of organisations have pledged assistance but on thr ground we have been thin with all those committments being made and when it comes to the implemenation some have not been there. But we are impressed, yourself as the office has been in the province and working with us.”
