KwaZulu-Natal Transport officials say they're still trying to locate the families of six people who lost their lives in the double-vehicle crash in Umzinto.
11 other people were hurt when the two cars collided on the R612 on Saturday afternoon.
The department's Mluleki Mntungwa says their law enforcement officers are still investigating the cause of the crash.
"Our officials are currently trying to establish contact with the families of the victims of the crash. As soon as we make contact - we will then see what the way forward will be," Mntungwa said.
