Umzimkhulu shootings: Residents urged to come forward

The Harry Gwala District Municipality has assured its residents protection will be given to those who come forward with information on possible political killings.
Three local councillors in Umzimkhulu were gunned down over the past four months.
Police are also investigating attempted murder charges after three ward councillors in the Ibisi area were wounded last week.

The municipality's mayor, Mluleki Ndobe says people are living in fear.
"We are working with religious and traditional leadership to organise a prayer so that we ask for divine intervention in challenges we are confronted with of political leadership in Umzimkhulu and throughout the province," he said.
