uMsunduzi residents march over service delivery
Updated | By Lauren Hendricks
uMsunduzi residents took their service delivery frustrations
to the streets.

They marched to City Hall in Pietermaritzburg to hand over a memorandum to the mayor on Friday.
In it, they have outlined their grievances and demands about issues, including tariff hikes and alleged mismanagement.
The Northern Areas Ratepayers and Residents Association joined the protesting residents.

The association's Brunetta Reddy said tariffs go up annually, yet there's little to no service delivery in return.
"In fact, it's gotten worse, and then we received the AG's report, which shows R915 million of reckless, fruitless and wasteful expenditure while people are suffering at the hands of poverty, unemployment, no houses, and no water in certain areas.
"So, we saying if the municipality is choosing to charge certain areas and not other areas, we are uniting together to say then we want the same treatment."
