UMsunduzi issues tender scam warning
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
UMsunduzi municipality is warning local business and service providers to be on the lookout as a tender scam is making the rounds.

It says the scammers target their victims in hopes of separating them with their hard-earned money.
Spokesperson Thobeka Mafumbatha says business should carefully scrutinize any tender-related engagements said to be on behalf of or with the municipality as some have already fallen victim.
She says if anyone is being approached about a tender this should be an immediate red flag.
"The scammers would solicit bribes and money from their victims and say they have qualified for a certain tender which they should apply for", she said.
"I also want to say you do not pay any money for a document or tender. You just simply apply for the tender and go through the evaluation process just like anyone else", Mafumbatha said.
