Umlazi school gets new toilets
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
The schooling experience of about 1 200 pupils at Sandakahle Primary School in uMlazi is expected to change for the better.
They've received new ablution facilities as part of Unilever's school toilet refurbishment initiative.
During the start of the handover ceremony, learners sang songs of praise, some honouring the late state President, Nelson Mandela.
Gathered at an open area at the school, they also took a pledge to maintain the new facilities.
Principal Lindiwe Blose gave a word of thanks for the initiative, saying that the development couldn't have come at a better time. SHe says they had been very concerned about the impact the dilapidated facilities could've had on learning and teaching at the school.
