Updated | By Lauren Beukes
eThekwini Municipality says the city's engineers are working on restoring water to Umlazi.
A burst pipe has led to supply interruptions in the area.
The municipality's Msawakhe Mayisela says teams are trying to trace and expose the problem on a 300mm diameter water pipe on the South Coast Bridge over the Umlaas Canal.
Glebelands Hostel, Umlazi Mega City and Prince Mshiyeni Memorial Hospital are just some of the places that are having to make do without a drop to drink.
"We are appealing to all our residents to bare with us. We are doing everything in our power to ensure that water is back. We will continue to update them. We are currently supplying water with our water tankers."
