Umlazi Chisa Nyama ranked amongst best restaurants in the world
It's a big feather in the cap for popular Umlazi restaurant, Max's Lifestyle. It's been announced as one of the top 207 restaurants in the world by International luxury travel and lifestyle magazine Condé Nast Traveler.
Max's Lifestyle, East Head Cafe in Knysna, as well as The Pot Luck Club in Cape Town are the only South African restaurants on the list.
The owner of Max's Lifestyle Max Mqadi says it has been always his dream to put his township and province on the world map.
Mqadi says he started his restaurant to change the wrong perception about township life.
"Max's Lifestyle is not here for competing - it's here for teaching, for making people to grow,I'm feeling so humbled, that's why I'm saying I'm speechless. that is why I want to thank you. This is for my country, this is for KZN, this is for Durban, this is for Umlazi," he said.
