uMkhanyakude drought-affected farmers assisted
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Farmers in the uMkhanyakude District will see the province's first drought intervention outlet being rolled out in the area today.

It is part of the provincial Department of Agriculture's R114-million pledge announced over a week ago to help drought-stricken farmers.
The district is one of the worst-affected areas in the province.
Spokesperson Lelethu Manentsa says MEC Cyril Xaba will be in Mtubatuba today, with farmers there due to receive assistance in the form of animal fodder, hay and water-harvesting inputs.
"We'll be visiting one of the outlets in that area to initiate one of the first roll outs towards assisting farmers in that area.
"The MEC will be visiting local communities that have been affected by the drought in the province," he said.
