uMhlathuze gets strict with public drinking

The City of uMhlathuze has implemented a set of Bylaws to address the scourge of public drinking that has taken centre stage in the city.
It says its in the process of strengthening enforcement to restore its ravaged image.
Spokesperson Mdu Ncalane says such actions have resulted in the damage of infrastructure and the city is empowered to take drastic actions against transgressors.
"These bylaws speak to things like racing and other sports on public roads, pedestrians, drinking in public, road safety and all other related activities as such", he said.
