Umgababa netter collapses, fisherman missing after boat capsizes

A man has died, and another is missing after a fishing boat
reportedly capsized off Umgababa Beach on the south coast.
Three fishermen were on the vessel launched to look for sardines when tragedy struck on Tuesday morning.
Vinesh Soogreemm, who is with the Angler News South Africa podcast, has been speaking to fishermen on the beach.

He says the victim was an experienced and well-known netter.
“They were assigned to do CPR on him for about 45 minutes when they got him out. He's been a netter for about 40 years. He is like one of the more recognised ones out there. It’s like losing one of our family members right now."
Rescuers are still searching for the other fisherman, while a third man was found unharmed.
Soogreem says the boat capsized about 20 metres from shore.
"It wasn't a rough sea today. You know, the sea wasn't bad at all. So, It was on a shore back, I guess; it wasn’t far at all."
