The Council for Quality Assurance in Education, Umalusi, has declared itself ready to administer the final national senior certificate exams despite the disruption caused by Covid-19.

Umalusi's CEO Mafu Rakometsi addressed a media briefing on Friday, admitting the institution is concerned by the disruption coursed to education by the pandemic.
"There is no doubt that Covid-19 has compelled out to review our approach in term of how we conduct our business as a sector," said Rakometsi.
He assured journalists that irrespective of the inconveniences caused by the pandemic, it is all system go at the council.
"The system has not collapsed even where there are shortcomings, even with those shortcomings the system would still be able to run.
"We are continuing to monitor so when the examinations start next week, things should be at the right stage of development.”
The exams are due to start on November 5.
